Welcome to onthisporch, an icon challenge community for fans of M. Night Shyamlan's movie The Village. Each week the type of challenge will vary; we may post caps, lyrics, a theme (i.e. an icon that represents fear), or a specific color/texture to use.

The Rules of the Village:
1. All submissions must meet the LJ standards:
-- No more than 40kb
-- No more than 100 x 100 pixels
2. Animation is okay, unless otherwise specified for a particular challenge.
3. You must be a member of the community to enter the contest.
4. Do not share your submission anywhere else until the winners of the challenge are announced.
5. Submit your icon and its URL in a comment to the post announcing the week's challenge. Please have your LiveJournal name either in the URL or in the filename.

i.e.

6. All comments will be screened, so only you and the moderator will be able to see it.
7. If you need a remote image hosting service, try either http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.imageshack.us. Please note: if we can't see your icon we can't include it in the voting. If you have any issues, please contact the mod for the week.

Submission Deadline: Usually Friday at 8pm PST
